Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Hint at More Purchases Amid Strong Stock Performance
Strategy's executive chairman Michael Saylor has hinted at another Bitcoin purchase following the company's strong stock performance. In his latest post on X, Saylor shared an orange-themed chart of its Bitcoin holdings, which some market observers are interpreting as a possible indication of another acquisition.
The chart does not confirm any new purchases, but Saylor has previously used similar visuals ahead of official Bitcoin acquisition announcements. Strategy's shares rose 48% last month and have since increased by another 16%, placing it at the top of the Nasdaq-100 for August.
Strategy currently holds 845,050 BTC, acquired at a total cost of approximately $63.73 billion, with an average purchase price of $75,412 per Bitcoin. The company's latest confirmed purchase occurred between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30, when it acquired 4,603 BTC for around $369.7 million at an average price of $80,318 per coin.
Strategy reports its Bitcoin transactions through regulatory filings, meaning any official confirmation of new purchases will come from these disclosures rather than Saylor's social media posts.
