Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Spark Speculation After Mysterious X Post
Strategy's Chairman and former CEO Michael Saylor posted an enigmatic message on X that has left analysts speculating about his company's next move regarding its Bitcoin holdings.
The post, which reads 'Doing ₿usiness,' using the cryptocurrency's logo as the first letter of the second word, was reshared by many popular crypto analysts and market observers who interpreted it as a sign that Strategy had resumed its BTC purchases. However, taking a closer look at last week's events might tell a different story.
A few days ago, Lookonchain analysts flagged another potential offload of over 1,000 units from a wallet linked to the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, which could be a sign that Strategy is preparing for its fourth BTC sale this year. The company used a portion of its proceeds from the last sale to purchase its own STRC stock, which has seen a positive reaction and risen by $20 since hitting a low.
In late June, Strategy halted its BTC purchases in order to refocus on rebuilding its USD reserve after STRC slumped below its par price of $100. Analysts are now expecting another sale from the company.
