Strategy's Bitcoin Reserve Reaches New Heights Amid Dollar Reserve Growth

Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, has maintained a large Bitcoin reserve of 840,447 BTC ($63,532.00 per coin) as of August 9. The company's cash buffer stands at $4.65 billion, providing a buffer against any potential stress caused by selling its Bitcoin holdings.

Saylor stated that Strategy sold $108 million in Bitcoin and $653 million in MSTR shares to increase its dollar reserve by $650 million. The company also repurchased $109 million of STRC, its variable-rate preferred stock.

The exact funding path for the repurchase is unclear, but QR Capital co-founder João Paulo Mayall estimated that Strategy sold around 0.4% of its Bitcoin holdings over two weeks. This suggests a voluntary approach to managing liquidity rather than a panic response to market conditions.

Strategy's position remains that it intends to be a net buyer of Bitcoin, and selective sales can coexist with long-term accumulation when dollars improve reserve coverage or preferred-stock support improves.
