Strategy's Saylor Hints at Massive New Bitcoin Buy Amid Orange Purchase Surge
Michael Saylor, the founder and chairman of Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), has hinted at a massive new Bitcoin purchase. In a recent comment, Saylor noted that the company's Bitcoin holdings are 'more orange than ever.'
According to the StrategyTracker platform, the density of orange purchase markers, which represent new Bitcoin purchases, reached an all-time high on October 4, 2026. This has historically preceded official filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on the completion of large purchases.
Strategy has accumulated 847,666 BTC, representing about 4.04% of Bitcoin's total supply. The company's portfolio has grown by 26.05% since the start of the year, with purchases made in late September at prices close to the portfolio's average purchase price of $75,442.45 per coin.
The company's shares currently trade at a 14% premium to the value of its net crypto reserves, thanks in part to its unique debt model, the Digital Credit Stack. Strategy raises liquidity by issuing specialized bonds, totaling $12.68 billion, with fixed yields ranging from 9.00% to 13.63% annually.
