$STRC Buybacks Not Priority as Saylor Focuses on Market Ecosystem
Strategy's executive chairman Michael Saylor has outlined his vision for the company's $STRC preferred stock, and it doesn't involve buying back shares to reach par value. Instead, Saylor is focusing on building a broad market ecosystem around the security. He wants $STRC to trade near its $100 par value with high liquidity and low volatility.
The current trading price of $STRC is between $85 and $87, which is 13% to 15% below par. Despite this, Saylor sees an opportunity for investors who want stable exposure to Strategy's Bitcoin thesis without the extreme swings of common stock. The preferred stock carries a 12% dividend rate, making it attractive to buyers at today's prices.
Saylor has drawn a clear line: Strategy will not issue new $STRC shares below the $100 par value. This means that any potential price appreciation will be driven by organic demand rather than buybacks.
