Streamflow Burns 700M Tokens, Eliminates 70% of STREAM Supply
Streamflow Foundation has eliminated 70% of its STREAM token supply by burning 699.99 million tokens through Solana's programmatic burn instruction.
The move permanently removes those tokens from circulation, with total supply now standing at 300 million STREAM, down from 1 billion.
This decision was made to eliminate the variable of treasury holdings that can be distributed or sold by Streamflow Foundation, as CEO Mališa Stanojević explained: 'A treasury that can be spent is a treasury the market has to price in. Burning it outright is the only version of this commitment that doesn’t depend on anyone’s continued good intentions.'
The remaining tokens are accounted for: 11.47% in existing vesting contracts, 4.03% reserved for current and future team members, 3.42% in the Active Staking Rewards program, and 11.08% freely circulating supply.
