Streamflow Cuts Circulating Supply by 70% with Historic Burn
Streamflow Foundation made headlines today by burning 70% of its total STREAM supply in one on-chain transaction. The move permanently removes 699.99 million STREAM from circulation, reducing the total supply to 300 million STREAM.
The burn covers 100% of the foundation's allocation, both locked and unlocked, as well as a significant portion of the founder and future team allocation. This was done using Solana's programmatic burn instruction, which directly reduces total supply at the mint level.
'A treasury that can be spent is a treasury the market has to price in,' said Mališa Stanojević, CEO of Streamflow. 'Burning it outright is the only version of this commitment that doesn’t depend on anyone’s continued good intentions.'
The remaining STREAM supply is now accounted for, with 11.47% held by private investors and early contributors in existing vesting contracts, 4.03% reserved for current and future team members, 3.42% in the Active Staking Rewards program, and 11.08% freely circulating.
