Strive Adds 2,000 BTC Strengthening Bitcoin Treasury Ambitions
Strive has added 2,000 BTC to its holdings, bringing its total to 29,462 BTC. The purchase, made between September 28 and October 2, 2026, cost an average of $84,422 per coin, including fees and expenses, as detailed in the company’s Form 8-K.
The acquisition boosts Strive’s claim of building a corporate bitcoin treasury, though it remains fifth in Bitcoin treasury rankings. Strive still trails MARA by 6,115 BTC and Bitcoin Standard Treasury Company by 489 BTC. The company’s CEO, Matt Cole, has suggested second place among public bitcoin holders is possible by year-end but cautioned it is not his base case.
Strive’s financing structure includes $1.294 billion in preferred stock obligations and a $168.228 million annualized interest obligation. The company has set up a facility to repurchase up to $500 million of its preferred stock, though this is not a guaranteed commitment. The recent purchase represents about one quarter of Strive’s quarterly Bitcoin acquisitions, raising questions about the sustainability of its strategy.
The company’s Amplification Ratio stood at 55.3%, with a goal to maintain it above 60% while Bitcoin remains below $100,000. The next steps for Strive will determine whether its Bitcoin accumulation is a durable strategy or a costly effort to catch up with larger holders.
