Strive Aims for New Bitcoin Heights with $81M Purchase
Strive Inc.'s CEO Matt Cole has announced that his company will soon make its largest Bitcoin purchase yet, adding over 1,100 BTC to their existing holdings. This move comes as part of Strive's aggressive accumulation campaign, which has transformed the Nasdaq-listed firm into one of the biggest corporate Bitcoin holders globally.
The upcoming purchase will be funded through sales of Strive's SATA preferred stock, a strategy that has allowed the company to avoid debt while rapidly expanding its BTC treasury. As of late August, Strive held 23,156 BTC, ranking it as the fifth-largest Bitcoin treasury among publicly traded companies.
Strive's accumulation pace has been relentless, with their holdings increasing from roughly 5,000 BTC in fall 2025 to over 23,000 BTC in less than a year. In August alone, Strive scooped up more than 3,000 BTC across multiple purchases, including 1,110 BTC at an average price of approximately $73,409 per coin and another 1,800 BTC at roughly $79,431 each.
Cole has hinted that the company may exceed its goal of reaching 20,000 BTC by year-end 2026, with potential acquisitions bringing total holdings well beyond this target. Strive's financing mechanism is distinctive, as it funds BTC purchases through equity issuance, no loans or leverage involved. The company maintains a near debt-free balance sheet and has enough cash reserves to cover dividend obligations on the preferred stock.
