Strive Makes Largest Bitcoin Purchase in Four Months
Strive, a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company, made its largest Bitcoin purchase in four months, acquiring 2,000 BTC between Sept. 28 and Oct. 2 at an average price of $84,422 per coin. This acquisition, worth approximately $169 million, pushed Strive's total holdings to 29,462 BTC as of Oct. 2, marking a 48% increase since July 2.
The company's last significant purchase was 2,500 BTC between May 23 and June 1, which brought its total to 19,000 BTC at the time. Strive's average cost per Bitcoin was $90,170 at the end of September, slightly above the $86,000 trading price on Monday. Despite this, the company's holdings are currently valued at about $2.5 billion at the current market price.
Strive operates by raising money from investors and parking it in Bitcoin. In September 2025, it agreed to acquire Semler Scientific, a healthcare technology firm holding roughly 5,000 Bitcoin, which significantly boosted its stack. By late April, Strive held 14,557 Bitcoin, and by mid-August, it had increased to 20,246 BTC.
Strive's financial filing shows $284.7 million in cash and no debt. The company has been raising capital primarily by selling SATA, a type of preferred stock that pays regular dividends. Each SATA share carries a $100 stated amount, and Strive currently pays about 13% annually. The company's stock, trading on the Nasdaq, allows investors to bet on Bitcoin through a regular brokerage account.
