Strong Jobs Report Halts Bitcoin Price at $82K as Markets Shudder
The cryptocurrency markets experienced a significant shift in sentiment last week as Bitcoin (BTC) ended August in the green for the first time during a bear market. However, this momentum was short-lived due to the strong US jobs report released on Friday.
Despite briefly surging past $81,000, BTC's price was halted at $82,400, its highest point since mid-May. The asset remained above $81,000 until the jobs report, which caused a two-grand slump in its value.
The week saw several altcoins perform well, with ZEC gaining 20%, XMR up by 10%, and UNI rocketing by almost 40%. However, Fidelity analysts were not convinced that BTC is out of the woods, suggesting that the bear market may not be over yet.
