Sui Dollar Stablecoin Launches on Bullish Exchange
Sui Dollar ($USDsui), the native stablecoin of the Sui blockchain, has been listed for trading on Bullish exchange in eligible regions. The token, which trades under the ticker $USDsui, reached a centralized exchange order book just weeks after its launch, a rapid achievement for a stablecoin designed for a specific blockchain.
$USDsui launched on March 4, 2026, as a fiat-backed, USD-pegged stablecoin. Issued by Bridge, a company owned by Stripe, it is backed on a 1:1 basis through the Open Issuance platform. Each token is supported by a reserve of dollar assets, including US Treasuries, repos, money-market funds, and cash, with a focus on short-term Treasuries. The stablecoin aims to facilitate payments and decentralized finance (DeFi) within the Sui ecosystem.
With a circulating supply between 78.5 million and 78.85 million tokens, $USDsui has maintained its $1.00 peg. Unlike most fiat-backed stablecoins, $USDsui directs yield generated from its reserves toward buybacks of the SUI token and liquidity incentives for DeFi on Sui, rather than solely benefiting the issuer. This unique model supports the broader Sui ecosystem by encouraging market liquidity and token buybacks.
Before its listing on Bullish, $USDsui was already integrated into several DeFi applications on Sui, including Cetus, Bluefin, and Turbos Finance. In some network activity snapshots, $USDsui ranks as the second-largest stablecoin on the chain, following USDC. Stablecoin transfer volumes on the Sui blockchain have exceeded $100 billion in early 2026, reflecting growing institutional demand for stablecoins.
The Bullish listing provides traders with another venue to access $USDsui without first moving funds onto the Sui blockchain. The involvement of Stripe’s Bridge adds credibility, potentially appealing to institutions that value the backing of a major payments company. However, risks remain, including the token's recent launch, its relatively small supply compared to USDC, and its dependence on activity within the Sui blockchain.
