Sui Foundation Launches Buyback Program with Stablecoin Returns

The Sui Foundation has launched a buyback program for its native token, SUI. The foundation will use returns from its stablecoin management funds to purchase SUI tokens on the open market and reinvest them into ecosystem initiatives.

This move is part of a broader strategy to support the Sui ecosystem and create a self-sustaining economic loop. By leveraging stablecoin yields, the foundation can fund ecosystem growth without selling SUI directly, which might otherwise put downward pressure on the price.

The buyback program is designed to create a virtuous cycle: as the managed fund pool expands, it generates more operating returns, which in turn supports additional SUI buybacks. The exact amount of SUI purchased so far has not been disclosed, but the foundation has indicated that the program is already underway.
