Supercycle Finance Challenges Bitcoin Treasury Norms with Sell Strategy
Supercycle Finance has launched a new bitcoin treasury model that differs from traditional accumulation strategies. According to CEO Michael Terpin, the firm plans to buy BTC when prices are low and sell holdings when they're high.
The strategy is based on Terpin's 'four seasons' philosophy, which involves holding U.S. Treasuries and other interest-bearing assets during periods of market downturn. Supercycle Finance has acquired Presearch, a recently shuttered privacy-focused search platform, as part of its broader plan to acquire distressed tokenized projects.
The company plans to raise up to $75 million through a proposed Reg A offering, with the majority going towards buying BTC. This is in contrast to traditional treasury companies like Strategy, which have consistently added to their BTC holdings over the years.
