SVB Crash May Have Marked Bitcoin's Bottom, Analyst Says
James Van Straten, a market analyst, suggests that Bitcoin's bottom formed after the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank in March 2023. He points out that many investors did not believe the cryptocurrency had reached its lowest point until this event occurred.
This led to a higher low for Bitcoin, which is a significant technical indicator. Van Straten notes that with the VIX currently at 14 and approaching the U.S. mid-term elections, another volatility event may be needed to instill renewed confidence in a market bottom.
Van Straten's analysis also highlights Riot's decision to sell 4,300 BTC in the second quarter, leaving them with a balance of 11,380 BTC. This move reflects his focus on technical indicators and major institutional moves in the Bitcoin market.
