Swell Conference Focus Shifts to Traditional Finance as Spot XRP ETF Demand Grows
Ripple's Swell conference is gaining momentum as an institutional-focused event. The first year of spot XRP ETFs has become a prominent topic, attracting over $1.7 billion in cumulative inflows by mid-September. Despite XRP's price remaining below its all-time high, the growth in regulated exposure suggests a significant shift towards institutional allocation.
The SEC's recent approval of the Bitwise XRP ETF's post-effective amendment further demonstrates the evolving ecosystem. The combination of Swell with the Apex summit and UBRI Connect is expected to bring around 1,500 participants to New York for discussions on bank-grade digital-asset infrastructure, AI in money movement, and other traditional-finance-heavy topics.
The inclusion of Intercontinental Exchange executives among announced speakers reinforces this trend. The discussion surrounding XRP ETFs will now sit alongside tokenized collateral, crypto infrastructure, and institutional market plumbing, rather than being treated as a standalone crypto product.
