SWIFT's latest pilot has seen 50 banks join forces to test its payments scheme, which aims to enhance front-end digital experiences by improving FX and fee transparency. The move aligns with the G20's expectations of having most cross-border transactions settled immediately by 2027.

The 5-pillar G20 program includes speed, cost, access, choice & transparency, which SWIFT is successfully covering. With its payments scheme, financial institutions can improve FX and fee transparency, giving customers clearer, real-time tracking.

Europe's top financial conglomerate has added a native blockchain ledger, enabling coordinated corridors that include cryptocurrencies like XRP and XLM.

Ripple's XRP seems to be winning in the bank integration field so far, but both XRP and Stellar Lumens (XLM) offer reduced reliance on intermediaries, able to process transactions in seconds rather than SWIFT's legacy 3-5 day time-frame.
