Swiss Franc Strengthens as Investors Flee Dollar Amid $40 Trillion Debt

Michael Bucella, co-founder of Neoclassic Capital, believes Bitcoin's price surge is not solely driven by Washington's actions. Instead, he attributes it to a broader trend where investors are seeking debasement hedges amidst the rising US national debt.

The US national debt has surpassed $40 trillion, leading some investors to treat scarce assets like gold and Bitcoin as insurance against potential currency devaluation.

Bucella cites an example of a conversation with friends in Switzerland, where they argued that holding non-dollar assets, such as the Swiss franc or gold, made more sense than waiting for US legislation to pass.

He notes that participation returns quickly once sentiment turns, regardless of Congress's actions. Bitcoin is also becoming easier to borrow against with new lending products emerging onshore.
