SwissBorg Joins Eurøpe Consortium to Boost EURØP Euro Stablecoin
SwissBorg has officially joined the Eurøpe Consortium as a founding member, aiming to promote the practical use of the EURØP euro stablecoin. The consortium includes other key players like Schuman Financial, eToro, and LCX, focusing on distribution and infrastructure for a regulated digital euro token across multiple blockchains.
EURØP, issued by Schuman Financial, is structured as an electronic money token (EMT) under the EU’s MiCA regulation. It is fully backed by euros, with an additional 2% reserve fund audited by KPMG and held at certified banks like Société Générale. The token operates on five blockchains: Avalanche, Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and XRPL, ensuring broad accessibility.
SwissBorg’s involvement began in December 2025, when EURØP trading went live on its platform. The company later migrated user accounts to BlockNodes SAS, a MiCA-authorized French entity, in June 2026. In July 2026, SwissBorg launched a loyalty program offering BORG token rewards on EURØP deposits, with no lock-up requirements, and waived exchange fees until August 31, 2026.
The consortium’s goal is to build infrastructure and real use cases for euro stablecoins in Europe, aligning with MiCA’s regulated trading environment. For SwissBorg users, this means access to a regulated euro token with fee waivers and rewards. For Schuman Financial, the consortium expands EURØP’s reach through multiple distribution channels.
