T. Rowe Price’s Crypto and Tech ETFs Lead in Returns but Investors Favor Others
In September, T. Rowe Price’s ETF lineup saw strong returns from its crypto and technology-focused funds, but investor inflows flowed into different funds. The T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF (TKNZ) led with an 8.7% return, followed by the T. Rowe Price Technology ETF (TTEQ) at 8% and the T. Rowe Price Growth Stock ETF (TGRW) at 2.7%. TKNZ, launched on July 15, holds five to 15 crypto assets with Bitcoin and ether making up about 56% of its holdings.
Despite the strong performance of TKNZ, most new investor money went to the T. Rowe Price Capital Appreciation Equity ETF (TCAF), which took in $647.47 million, nearly half of the lineup’s $1.41 billion in September inflows. The T. Rowe Price Ultra Short-Term Bond ETF (TBUX) and the T. Rowe Price Small-Mid Cap ETF (TMSL) also saw significant inflows, with $171.61 million and $135.36 million respectively.
T. Rowe Price’s lineup includes 39 actively managed ETFs with about $34.3 billion in combined assets. TCAF, the largest fund with $8.6 billion in assets, seeks strong returns with lower risk than the S&P 500 Index. TBUX focuses on high income with minimal price swings, holding shorter-term investment-grade bonds, while TMSL targets small- and midcap stocks with attractive valuations.
