TEL Display Issues in Wallets Due to Indexer Delay
The Ethereum token TEL has been experiencing issues with its display in wallets since the recent upgrade. Users of Trust Wallet, in particular, have reported seeing error messages asking 'why isn't my ethereum:0x467bccd9d29f223bce8043b84e8c8b282827790f showing up in my wallet?'
KuCoin has clarified that this is not a problem with the token itself, but rather an issue with the indexer delay. Wallets like Trust Wallet pull their balance data from indexers and asset lists, which can take time to update.
The process of updating assets in wallets like Trust Wallet involves a pull request to their assets repository, a contribution fee, and manual merging by maintainers. This is not an instant process, even when the submission is correct. Multiply this by every wallet and indexer that touches TEL, and it's clear why this takes time.
KuCoin has already reached out to a wide list of wallet providers and indexers on this issue. They advise users to check their wallet address directly on a block explorer first, if the balance is there on-chain, then it's a display issue with the wallet, nothing more. Users can also open a ticket with their wallet provider directly to speed up the process.
