Telegram Integrates Crypto Features with New Update
Telegram's latest update has introduced new features that are set to change how traders interact with the platform in 2025. The messaging app has added NFT gifting and third-party verification capabilities, further integrating itself into the crypto ecosystem.
The new update allows users to buy Telegram Stars directly on the app or through linking their TON wallets to the Fragment site. These stars can be used to send personalized gifts with custom backgrounds and icons, which can later be minted as NFTs. Users will also be able to trade these NFTs on different platforms.
Telegram's Head of Content, Alexey Bondarev, revealed that users can trade these NFTs on different platforms, showcasing the interoperability nature of it. However, the platform will levy a fee for upgrading gifts to NFT collectibles.
The update also includes third-party verification features, which will help combat crypto scams and frauds by allowing organizations to verify user accounts with regulators. This feature is expected to instill trust and tackle misinformation on the platform.
