Telegram Removed From Apple App Store: What It Means for Crypto Users

Share

The popular messaging app Telegram was removed from Apple's App Store globally due to a violation of its content guidelines regarding child sexual abuse material (CSAM).

According to reports, Telegram deleted the offending content and banned the responsible account after being notified by Apple.

As a result, iPhone users are unable to install or update the app from the App Store. Existing installations on iPhones continue to function normally for now, but new devices cannot download the official Telegram client directly from Apple's marketplace.

The outage is strictly isolated to Apple's iOS distribution, and users can still access Telegram through its web interface (web.telegram.org) and standalone desktop apps for macOS and Windows.
