Telegram Renews Crypto Push with Walt Relaunch and New Tools
Telegram has expanded its crypto product lineup by renaming its Wallet in Telegram service to Walt. This move comes as part of the company's efforts to introduce a new range of financial tools, including a planned card and AI-powered trading features.
The existing Walt service will continue to offer trading, investment, and yield products, alongside multichain assets and cross-chain transfers. The change does not require users to migrate their accounts or move funds.
Telegram's decision to rename its Wallet in Telegram service follows the introduction of Gram Wallet as a separate noncustodial service. Walt serves as the home for Telegram's custodial financial products, while Gram Wallet provides an option for users who want to control their own assets.
