Tenev's X Account Hacked to Promote VLAD Memecoin

Roger Tenev's account on X was hacked by fraudsters promoting the VLAD memecoin. On Thursday evening, the post appeared on Tenev's profile claiming that Robinhood was launching Vladhood, a memecoin with the ticker VLAD, as its official mascot.

The post stated that the token would be listed in the Robinhood app and included a smart contract address beginning with 0x92d. However, no similar announcement appeared on the official Robinhood or Robinhood Crypto accounts.

Robinhood Chain, where the VLAD token is hosted, has become a popular venue for memecoin trading since its launch on July 1. The network processes around 6 million transactions per day and has a cumulative trading volume of $9 billion on decentralized exchanges.
