Terra Classic's Tripled Burn Tax Fails to Deliver

Terra Classic's burn tax has been tripled to 1.5 percent through governance proposal 12223, but the impact on supply is not as drastic as expected.

Over the past twelve months, around 39.78 billion $LUNC have been destroyed, which translates to only 0.62 percent of the total supply of 6.449 trillion tokens.

At this rate, it would take approximately 112 years for the supply to halve, not 37 years as previously predicted by some analysts.

The main culprit behind the discrepancy is that a large portion of $LUNC trading volume occurs on centralized exchanges, which are exempt from the burn tax.
