Tether and Fasanara Capital have partnered to create StableFund, a private credit fund that will use USDT for cross-border lending. The firms are committing $400 million to the fund, which aims to raise up to $3 billion from institutional investors.

The fund will provide financing across global markets, targeting small businesses and consumers who struggle to access traditional financing. Fasanara Capital will manage the fund and use fintech platforms in over 60 countries to provide short-term, asset-backed loans.

Tether's CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company's USDT infrastructure will support cross-border lending through the fund. This move expands Tether's role in international payments, but also raises scrutiny over how USDT moves through global markets.
