Tether Chairman Giancarlo Devasini Becomes Italy's Richest Man
Giancarlo Devasini, chairman of Tether, has amassed an estimated fortune of $89.3 billion, making him Italy's richest man and the world's 23rd-richest person.
Devasini built his wealth through Tether and its ecosystem, particularly USDT, a stablecoin that maintains a value close to one US dollar.
At the end of 2025, there were over 186 billion USDT in circulation, with Tether reporting more than $10 billion in profits for the year.
The company's reserves are invested in US Treasury securities, with direct holdings exceeding $122 billion and total exposure above $141 billion.
