Tether Finances $1.5B of Gold Trades with Top US Dealer
Tether has quietly become a major financier of US gold dealer Gold.com, providing around $1.5 billion in financing to the company.
This relationship shows how Tether is expanding beyond its core business of issuing the USDT stablecoin and into other areas such as physical gold trading and finance.
Gold.com has about $1.7 billion in outstanding precious-metal leases at the end of June, with Tether reportedly providing most of that financing through payables and advances, totaling around $1.45 billion.
This arrangement allows Gold.com to acquire precious metals without paying the full cost immediately, using them for trading and retail operations before settling its debt.
