Tether Floods Solana with $500M in USDT Amid Liquidity Crunch

Tether has minted $500 million worth of USDT on the Solana blockchain in under an hour, adding to the network's existing supply of approximately $3.8 billion to $4 billion in native SPL-standard tokens.

This massive mint comes as Circle, issuer of rival stablecoin USDC, also mints $250 million on Solana around the same period, suggesting that someone needs liquidity and they need it fast.

Tether has been active on other chains during this time, executing significant transfers including a $500 million USDT movement to Binance via Solana, indicating that the company continues to operate across multiple blockchains simultaneously.
