Tether's Exposure to Troubled Bank Stays Under $64 Million
Tether's exposure to EQIBank is reportedly less than 0.034% of its total assets, standing at around $64 million based on the stablecoin issuer's $187.75 billion in assets as of June 30.
US prosecutors have seized roughly $84.2 million tied to EQIBank's payment processor, Capstone Limited, which worked with both Tether and Bitfinex.
EQIBank claims it has lost access to about $89 million, or 80% of its monetary holdings, due to the seizure.
Tether maintains a reserve surplus of approximately $4.11 billion, limiting the risk to USDT's peg, according to the company's figures.
