Tether's USDT0 is an omnichain version of its popular stablecoin that allows it to operate on multiple blockchains, including those where a native contract has not been deployed.

Launched in January 2025, USDT0 uses LayerZero's Omnichain Fungible Token standard and locks collateral in an Ethereum vault while minting claims elsewhere.

The system has seen rapid growth, with over $50 billion in cumulative transfers by late 2025 and daily volumes reaching hundreds of millions.
