Tether's quarterly earnings reached $1.5 billion in Q2, driven primarily by U.S. Treasury holdings. The company's stablecoin USDT saw a surge in circulation to $184.6 billion amid market volatility.

The number of USDT tokens increased by approximately $446 million from March through June 2023, with outstanding supply growing to nearly $184.6 billion. This expansion reinforced USDT's dominant standing in the stablecoin marketplace, where it maintained over 60% of total stablecoin market share.

Tether allocated most backing assets to sovereign debt instruments and overnight liquidity mechanisms, ensuring sufficient liquid reserves to fulfill redemption requests during periods of stress. The strategy also minimized dependence on speculative or volatile reserve components.
