Teucrium's XRP Short ETF Faces 19th Delay
Teucrium's planned 2x Short Daily XRP ETF has been delayed for the 19th time, pushing its effective date to October 11, 2026. Despite repeated postponements, Teucrium has not provided a clear explanation for the delays, nor have regulators indicated that they rejected the fund.
The SEC filings show that the company has used Form 485BXT to move the effective date on several occasions, most recently in July when it was pushed from August 16. The delay notices do not mention any concerns about liquidity, investor demand, or regulation, leaving investors wondering why the short XRP ETF remains stalled.
Contrastingly, Teucrium's 2x Long Daily XRP ETF, XXRP, is already trading and has been active since before the latest delay. Other leveraged XRP products, including ProShares UXRP and Volatility Shares XRPT, are also available in the US market.
Meanwhile, demand for XRP-linked investment products remains strong, with recent institutional filings showing positions from firms like Goldman Sachs, Jane Street, and Millennium Management. This growing interest in XRP exposure suggests that investors continue to see value in the asset despite the repeated delays of Teucrium's short fund.
