Thai Regulators Propose Rules for Limited Crypto ETF Options

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Thailand has proposed draft regulations for spot crypto ETFs. Initially, managers will be able to launch funds only for Bitcoin and Ethereum, with listings on the local stock exchange.

The average net exposure of the ETF to the underlying asset must be at least 80% of the fund’s value. This means that at least 80% of each fund's assets must be invested in either Bitcoin or Ethereum.

The discussion of the draft will continue until September 20, allowing for public feedback and input from stakeholders. It is unclear when the final regulations will be implemented.
