The Graph Redirects Query Traffic to Decentralized Network

The Graph Foundation is shifting its focus towards decentralization by directing Subgraph Studio query traffic onto The Graph Network. This change, starting with BNB Smart Chain and Polygon, marks a significant step in the foundation's transition from coordinator to operator.

This move increases on-network query demand for GRT, as queries served by indexers generate query fees paid in the token. As more chains follow, indexer revenue will serve as a measurable signal of the migration's progress.

The Subgraph Studio staging environment currently runs on a centralized Upgrade Indexer, but The Graph Network is now handling all new traffic. This initiative aligns with the foundation's goal to move from coordinator to operator and promote decentralization within the network.
