THORChain Activates Zcash Liquidity Pool with Caution Advised
THORChain has activated its Zcash (ZEC) liquidity pool after completing a network-wide node churn, marking a significant step in the integration of the privacy-focused asset into its cross-chain ecosystem.
The protocol said all nodes now monitor the Zcash blockchain, which is a key requirement for direct trading. However, native ZEC trading remains inactive and users have been advised to exercise caution due to shallow liquidity levels during this initial phase.
According to THORChain, the pool creates a permissionless liquidity venue for ZEC within its cross-chain ecosystem, allowing users to swap ZEC without relying on centralized exchanges. However, the protocol has not disclosed the current liquidity depth or provided a specific date for enabling native ZEC swaps.
