THORWallet Adds Monero Support Expanding Cross-Chain Capabilities
THORWallet has announced support for Monero (XMR), allowing users to access the privacy-focused cryptocurrency natively within the platform. This addition expands THORWallet's functionality, enabling seamless integration of XMR with other supported assets.
The update follows recent developments within the THORChain ecosystem, including the activation of a Zcash (ZEC) liquidity pool on October 2, 2026. This move aligns with THORChain's broader strategy to enhance cross-chain interoperability and liquidity.
THORChain has also made headlines for its stance on censorship resistance. The protocol rejected requests to block specific transactions, emphasizing its commitment to a permissionless design. This stance was reinforced when THORChain refused a request from Bitget CEO Gracy Chen to halt services to addresses linked to the exchange's September 24 breach.
Additionally, THORChain has adjusted its income distribution model, directing 20% of system income to Protocol-Owned Liquidity while reducing the RUNE burn from 5% to 1%. These changes aim to optimize liquidity and sustainability within the network.
The platform has also introduced measures to combat sandwich attacks and reduce maximum extractable value (MEV) costs for traders. A technical guide was published to explain how THORChain's execution model neutralizes these common DEX vulnerabilities.
