THORWallet Adds Monero Support for Native XMR Swaps
THORWallet has expanded its capabilities by integrating support for Monero (XMR), allowing users to access the Monero network directly through the app. This integration enables core functionalities such as sending and receiving XMR, along with the ability to create and manage multiple Monero accounts derived from the same wallet seed. This feature provides users with greater flexibility in managing their activities across the Monero network.
THORWallet also offers users the option to configure their own Monero node, ensuring their transactions are routed through a preferred node. For those who do not wish to set up a custom node, the app provides a default node for seamless interaction with the Monero blockchain. The wallet operates a lightweight implementation, ensuring that users' keys, balances, and transaction history are computed and stored on their devices, enhancing privacy and security.
The next major development in this integration is the introduction of native cross-chain swapping. Currently, Monero support on THORChain is undergoing testing and auditing. Once live, this feature will enable users to perform direct cross-chain swaps between Monero and other assets such as Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), stablecoins, Solana (SOL), Zcash (ZEC), and more. This advancement will allow users to swap assets without relying on centralized exchanges, providing a decentralized and secure trading environment.
With the Monero integration now active and cross-chain swaps on the horizon, THORWallet is positioning itself as a comprehensive platform for decentralized finance (DeFi). This move aligns with the app's goal of becoming a one-stop shop for DeFi users, offering seamless and secure access to various blockchain networks and assets.
