Three Cryptocurrencies Poised to Dominate the Market for Years to Come
The cryptocurrency market is expected to undergo significant changes in the next decade, and three assets are likely to remain relevant: Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
Bitcoin's scarcity will continue to drive its value, with four halvings scheduled between now and 2036. The first halving is expected in April 2028, followed by another in 2032, and a third in early 2036. This will reduce the number of new coins entering circulation, leading to increased demand and higher prices.
Ethereum's planned upgrades, including Glamsterdam, are expected to improve its scalability and ability to handle tokenized assets. The network already hosts $16.6 billion in tokenized assets, accounting for 43% of the market. Ethereum's main challenge is scaling, which will be addressed by Glamsterdam.
Solana is also making significant improvements, with Alpenglow aiming to reduce transaction finality from 13 seconds to 0.15 seconds. The coin's supply growth rate has been slowed down through governance actions, reducing the potential for dilution and increasing its long-term value.
