Senate Majority Leader John Thune has filed a cloture motion for H.R. 3633, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, setting up its consideration in September.

The move follows Thune's decision to postpone Senate consideration until lawmakers return from their August recess, but keeps the legislation on track for action when they reconvene.

The Clarity Act would establish a federal framework for digital assets and define regulatory responsibilities, providing clearer rules for crypto exchanges and other digital asset businesses.

Lawmakers continue to negotiate over key provisions, including stablecoin yield rules and ethics agreements, which remain unresolved within the bill.
