Timmer: Dollar Weakness Could Be Big Boost for Bitcoin

Fidelity's Jurrien Timmer believes dollar weakness could boost Bitcoin, citing the Treasury's recent actions as a catalyst for the cryptocurrency's rally.

The Treasury's decision to buy back more long-dated paper and issue more Bills took down the dollar, causing both gold and Bitcoin to soar. This has led markets to price in a potential 'slippery slope' toward fiscal dominance, where government financing needs constrain monetary policy.

Timmer argues that Bitcoin is potentially in an accumulation phase, approaching long-term power-law support levels. He previously noted that Bitcoin could benefit from the same 'rising tide' supporting gold, although he cautioned that gold may lead the move due to its own catalysts.
