Tokenized Real-World Assets Flood Crypto Exchanges, Matching Bitcoin Volumes
Rapid growth in trading of tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) has led to a milestone where RWAs perpetual futures have nearly matched Bitcoin perpetual futures volumes on crypto exchanges Hyperliquid and Binance. According to Talos, RWA perpetual futures reached 99.2% of Bitcoin perpetual futures trading volume over the past week across the two exchanges.
The surge in demand for RWA derivatives suggests that traders are increasingly using crypto-native infrastructure to gain leveraged exposure to traditional financial markets. This trend follows a broader push to bring traditional financial assets on-chain and is part of the growing segment of digital assets tied to tokenized stocks, bonds, commodities, and private credit.
Hyperliquid has emerged as a key venue for these new products after introducing perpetual contracts linked to tokenized real-world assets. Binance has also expanded its derivatives offerings to capture growing demand for around-the-clock trading of traditional market exposure.
