Tokenized Stock Market Value Surges 415% to $29.5 Billion
The tokenized stock market has seen a significant surge in activity, with a 415% increase in value to $29.5 billion over the past 30 days.
This growth is driven by a rise in active addresses, which climbed 209% to 1.3 million, and holder count, which increased 167% to 2.36 million during the same period.
The value distributed on-chain reached $2.54 billion, with Ondo leading the way at $842.8 million in distributed value, followed by Kraken's xStocks at $609.3 million and Binance's bStocks at $599.9 million.
This concentration of value among a few platforms has raised concerns about market dependence on these infrastructure providers.
Crypto platforms such as Coinbase and Bitwise have expanded their self-custodied equity products, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to buy and trade tokenized stocks, but this increased activity also brings new risks associated with DeFi use, including smart-contract, oracle, liquidity, and liquidation risks.
