Tokenized Stock Trading Hits $3 Billion Weekly Spot Volumes
Tokenized stock trading has reached new heights, with weekly spot trading volumes nearing $3 billion in early August. According to Grayscale Investments, Robinhood Chain, BNB Chain, and Solana have dominated this market, facilitating most of the blockchain-based equity activity.
The rapid growth of tokenized stock trading is driven by platforms such as Robinhood Chain, which has rapidly gained traction since its public mainnet launch on July 1. The platform offers 24-hour trading and access to decentralized exchanges, supporting deploying assets into lending or collateral protocols.
On-chain use of tokenized stocks has topped $110 million, with total value locked (TVL) in tokenized stock protocols reaching above $110 million. While most usage is focused on buying and selling, only about 5% of the overall tokenized-equity market is currently deployed in onchain financial applications like lending or collateral.
The growth of tokenized equity trading is creating a multi-chain ecosystem, allowing users a wider selection of networks for tokenized equity trading. Major products driving growth in the funds space include sUSDS, BlackRock's BUIDL, and USYC.
