Tokenized Stocks See Most Trading Activity Outside Regular Market Hours
Recent data from Kaiko shows that more than 70% of tokenized stock trading volume tied to U.S. equities occurs outside regular market hours. Specifically, 71% of tokenized stock trading volume on Uniswap in September took place during off-peak times, with nearly half of that activity happening when U.S. exchanges were fully closed.
This trend is significant because weekend price moves in tokenized stocks appear to foreshadow share-price moves after the U.S. market opens on Monday. In 20 out of 25 large price swings analyzed by Kaiko, weekend moves in tokenized stocks and subsequent share-price moves were in the same direction.
The data also highlights the growing importance of blockchain networks like Robinhood Chain, which has surpassed most other platforms in terms of tokenized stock trading volume. This trend is likely to continue as more investors turn to decentralized exchanges for their trading needs.
