Tokenized Stocks Surpass $3.8 Billion Market Cap
Tokenized stocks have reached a record market capitalization of $3.8 billion, just shy of the $4 billion milestone. This surge is led by blockchain platforms BNB Chain, Ethereum, and Solana, which dominate the sector.
The market for tokenized stocks, which are blockchain tokens representing real shares of companies, has seen rapid growth. Data from Token Terminal, RWA.xyz, and Binance Research shows the market surpassed $3 billion in early September 2026 and quickly climbed to $3.8 billion, exceeding earlier projections of $3.5 to $3.7 billion.
BNB Chain leads with a 30% to 34% market share, holding between $1.0 to $1.1 billion in tokenized stocks and ETFs. Ethereum follows with $750 to $830 million (22% to 25%), while Solana holds $680 to $740 million (20% to 23%). Major issuers like Ondo Finance, Binance’s bStocks, and Securitize are driving this activity, with Securitize’s SECZ product alone attracting over $430 million since July.
The growth extends beyond market cap, with holder addresses increasing by over 60% in the last 30 days to around 4.1 million. Trading volume on decentralized exchanges also spiked to $3.96 billion during a recent weekend. Despite this growth, tokenized stocks remain a small segment of the broader real-world asset market and the $80 trillion US equity market.
Regulatory developments, including discussions with the CFTC and the SEC’s innovation sandbox, are shaping the policy backdrop. The NYSE is reportedly preparing for tokenized securities trading, which could bring regulatory clarity and institutional participation.
