Tokenized Traditional Assets Reach $6.6B on Crypto Exchanges
According to CoinGecko's latest report, the market capitalization of tokenized 'real-world' assets on major crypto exchanges has surged fivefold in just over a year, reaching $6.6 billion in June 2026.
This growth is largely driven by the expansion of US stock perpetual futures, which now dominate trading volume and open interest on platforms such as Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate, and MEXC.
CoinGecko's analysis shows that derivatives, particularly perpetual futures, account for the vast majority of trading activity in tokenized traditional assets, while spot markets remain relatively small.
The report suggests that exchanges are investing heavily in tokenized products as a way to retain users and compete with decentralized exchanges and traditional brokerages, which are increasingly offering their own digital asset offerings.
