Tom Lee: Crypto Rally Could Extend Further on Tokenization, Stablecoins, and AI
Tom Lee, chairman of BitMine, believes that the current crypto rally could extend further due to several developments creating new sources of demand. Unlike previous rallies driven by a single trend, this cycle is being fueled by multiple factors.
Lee points out that tokenization of financial assets is one such driver. Financial companies are exploring ways to put stocks and other assets on digital networks, opening up new ways of trading and using them.
According to Lee, companies will only adopt blockchain technology if it can provide a 10x improvement in operational efficiency or revenue generation. The growing use of stablecoins is also supporting this shift by providing companies with a digital way to move money and settle transactions.
Lee also sees artificial intelligence as a potential driver, as AI agents could eventually make payments, buy services, or move stablecoins without human intervention. This combination of AI, digital payments, and tokenized assets could bring new users into the sector beyond those who trade cryptocurrencies.
Ethereum is expected to benefit from the growth of tokenized assets and financial applications, with Lee suggesting that it could 10x above its prior highs near $5,000. This would put the Ethereum price around $60,000 to $72,000 based on Lee's longer-term view.
