Tom Lee Sees Huge Gains for Ethereum by Year-End
Fundstrat's Tom Lee believes Ethereum could trade above $10,000 within the next 12 months. This prediction is despite a current price of around $2,670 and a year-to-date decline of over 10%. Lee argues that institutions still hold little to no crypto exposure, setting up what he calls a 'huge rotation' in the fourth quarter.
Lee pointed out that most institutional investors have yet to allocate any funds to cryptocurrencies. Only about 2% of those in Fundstrat's universe have made an investment. This could lead to a significant increase in demand for Ethereum, driving up its price.
The co-founder and head of research at Fundstrat also highlighted the dominance of Ethereum in tokenization projects. Companies like JPMorgan and BlackRock are primarily building on top of Ethereum's blockchain. Lee dismissed concerns that Ethereum is losing market share to competing blockchains.
